Here are some top tips on protecting your energy that I believe will be beneficial to you!
The most important thing you must do is to shield yourself & your energy. This stops you absorbing everything like a sponge. (Especially, if you are feeling confused, tired or depressed).
You can do this by visualising a bubble of white light around you. This can be done at any time & can be implemented daily, ideally when you wake up.
When you shower visualise your body being cleansed of all the unwanted energy. This will help to clear your energy field. Alternatively, salt baths are also great for cleansing your body.
Carrying crystals which offer protection.
They ideally need to be carried on your person. (I wear mine in my bra)
I would recommend labradorite. Bronzite is an excellent crystal for further protection, especially if you are in a negative environment, as it will also return the negative energies back to the sender.
If you want a crystal to absorb negative energies, then either black tourmaline or black obsidian is ideal, or a more gentle crystal to use would be snowflake obsidian.
Remember to cleanse your crystals often as they too need to be cleared of the energy they absorb.
Finally…
Finally, another tool to use when you feel you have absorbed external energies or feel negative thoughts from another is to declare that “anything which is not yours, please leave!” you can also add “and be returned to the sender” if you wish. (I would recommend you say this in your head as you may attract some further attention)
If you do happen to think of something negative yourself & feel you realise this, then simply say the word “Cancel” as soon as you can or even during the thought. This then cancels the thought & also helps you to retrain your thinking as you become more aware of your thoughts.
